Randy Peterson's Musical Performance Artist in Residency Music classes or choirs work and rehearse with Randy Peterson to create a concert they perform together!
Looking for a way to create an event to remember for your students and their families? This two to three day residency can involve either the entire student body or the vocal choirs only. Randy Peterson has developed this program in which complete, easy to follow songs are sent ahead a few weeks before Randy's visit. The music or classroom teacher begins working on the songs with the students in advance. When Randy arrives it all comes together in a magical performance in which each group of singers gets to shine as well as take part in big, rousing all-school sing-alongs.

My 5^th grade choir and I had the pleasure of working with Randy Peterson in February 2009. I have to say it was the most positive experience the kids and I have ever had. Randy sent us cd’s with the music on it along the music and notes on performance. I have never seen a professional performer more prepared and tuned into kids than Randy. We had a great time and preparing the kids for the concert was a breeze due to the information Randy sent us ahead of time. I hardly had to do anything! Please if you ever get the opportunity...tune into Randy and join in on one of his performances. It is well worth your time!!

"Dig Into Reading" is the theme.

My show is perfect! Here's what I mean...

Through song we'll visit animal homes,

discover caves and dinosaur bones!

We'll search with pirates on their ships

and dig the sands of old Egypt!

Kids will experience, as we go

an amazing world that's down below.

As my backdrop, to please the eyes,

will be a treasure chest great in size!

It's filled with books the kids all know,

and some they might ask you to show.

You'll DIG Randy's show, it's smart and fun.

It'll be a hit with everyone!

Randy Peterson's Artist in Residence Song Writing Program An exciting and fun way for Elementary School students to apply their writing skills!
The artist in residence program by Randy Peterson involves students in a combination of creative writing and musical performance. It begins by applying their writing skills to the creation of song lyrics, and ends with the students performing the songs and recording a school CD. The concepts of idea, organization, word choice, sentence fluency, voice, and conventions are identified as they are applied and the song takes shape. Students take part in the writing and revision of the completed song. The songwriting program is meant to reinforce lessons the students have learned and to give them a chance to apply their skills in a new and exciting way. The residency is a fast-paced, inspiring, and fun process that leaves the students proud of what they have accomplished.

Randy Peterson offers programs with themes that will entertain, educate and inspire. Here are some of his most popular programs:

"Big Dreams Begin With Books"                         "Reading shows the path to follow your dreams" is the theme in this fast-moving mix of music, humor and storytelling that all ages will enjoy. With costumes and musical role-playing, students help bring the songs to life in a show that truly shows the importance of reading. They will be inspired to dream, to imagine, and to READ!

"Randy Peterson's World of Music"                         This program takes an imaginary journey around the world. As the trip unfolds, it does so visually as well as musically, with the help of props and a huge world map. As we sing songs in different styles from many different lands, we will find how though there are many cultural differences, people everywhere are very much alike.

"Randy Peterson's Beach Party"                                                   The accent is on fun in Randy Peterson's Beach Party. A sing-along, surf-along, dance-along show that is perfect for family fun or a sunny all-school break in the middle of January!
