Every Day We Feel A Different Way

Music by Randy Peterson  Words written with students from Dickinson Elementary School, DePere, WI  Additional lyrics by Randy Peterson and Jonah Gibbin

On the first day of school I was nervous as can be.

Mom and Dad were nervous, too. We tried not to let you see.

So many kids that I didn’t know.

But you were still excited and decided you would go.

Sometimes we’re feeling angry, sometimes we feel amazed.

It seems like every day we feel a different way.

Sometimes we’re feeling happy and having lots of fun.

Sometimes we’re feeling sad. It’s the same for everyone.

Last night there was a storm, lightning flashing in the sky.

Thunder booming loud made me want to cry.

Then the lights went out, we were left there in the dark.

I’m afraid of tornadoes, monsters ghosts and sharks.

CHORUS

We are so excited! We’re going on a trip.

We’re off to Disney World, we’re so happy we could skip!

What rides do they have? They all look so much fun.

There are so many choices, let’s pick the coolest one!

CHORUS

But now we’re feeling sad...

because our song is done.
