Rodeo Bob  Words and Music by Randy Peterson

There once was a cowboy named Rodeo Bob

who got sort of tired of his rodeo job.

He said, "It’s time I tried something new.

Being a preacher is what I will do".

So Rodeo Bob set to work that same day to find him a place he could preach.

He found an old barn that wasn’t used much. He layed out some hay bales for seats.

The first Sunday morning the people that came didn’t quite know what to think

about goin’ to church in their finest clothes in a place where the cows used to stink!

And you might think it’s odd, you may think it’s strange, but they started singin’ ‘Home On the Range’

then Bob said a prayer, but when he was through, instead of ‘Amen’, they all said, "Yahoo"!

Yodle-ay-eee, yodle-ee-who.

There once was a cowboy named Rodeo Bob

who got sort of tired of his new preachin’ job.

He said,"It’s time I tried something new.

Being a teacher is what I will do".

When Miss maple the teacher came down with the flu, Bob got her job for a week.

When he said,"Howdy kids!" In his hat and his boots, they knew they were in for a treat!

Well, he didn’t know much about geography or adding numbers inside of his head.

But he sure knew ‘bout ridin’ and twirlin’ a rope. So that’s what he showed them instead!

When Miss maple returned she stopped in her tracks to see what the kids did to welcome her back.

They said,"Yipee-yi-yay"! And spun their lassos. From then on that class was called ‘Bob’s Buckeroos!'

Yodle-ay-eee, yodle-ee-who.

There once was a cowboy named Rodeo Bob

who got sort of tired of his new teachin’ job.

He said, "Some excitement is just what I need.

A train engineer is what I will be"!

So Bob set his saddle on top of the engine and climbed on to take it out for a ride.

‘Cause he like to feel the wind on his face. He had to have sun in his eyes.

The first stop he made was at his old church to pick up those folks that he knew.

Then he blew the train whistle outside of the school and out came those Buckeroos, too!

They rode over the mountain, across the wide plain, they rode everywhere you could ride on a train!

Through each passing town, with a smile and a nod, up on the engine sat Rodeo Bob.

Yodle-ay-eee, yodle-ee-who.

There once was a cowboy named Rodeo Bob

who thought for a while about all his new jobs.

He said,"Bein’ a cowboy is what I do best",

so he hopped on his horse and rode off out west.
